And this is our promise to all our customers as you ponder the arrival of Christmas and all the preparation that it entails. We hope we can help you as you get ready for the big day. At the same time we would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your loyalty .in supporting the HUB. throughout the year.
As mentioned in the last newsletter our Christmas celebrations begin with the HUB & PUB – Christmas Tree “lighting up” evening on Friday 7th December. The evening starts at 5.45 pm when everyone gathers outside the HUB where the Broad Chalke School Choir will lead us in singing a selection of popular carols. At about 6.15 everyone moves over to the Queen’s Head Pub where Trevor and his team will greet us with mulled wine and mince pies. You are then invited to stay on in the festive atmosphere in the pub to eat, drink and make merry!. This is a really fun family evening and the perfect occasion to get together at the start of the Christmas season. There is no need to book, just wrap up warm for what promises to be a most enjoyable occasion involving the whole Chalke Valley community.

A very local lamb supplier from Manor Farm in Broadchalke
Katie Jowett will be in the shop on Thursday 13th December from 10.00 in a “meet-your-supplier event”.
To quote Katie “ we are a small family run business, passionate about producing high quality, high welfare, healthy food in harmony with nature” All Manor Farm lamb and hogget are 100% organic, pasture fed and grow slowly on the downs producing tender meat and a wonderful depth of flavour.

Jenny Trueluck’s yummy mince pies are now on sale in the Coffee Shop .These have proved a great success in previous years. In theory there is an unlimited supply but maybe best not to risk it!

Scrabble is proving very popular. Games take place on the first and third Monday of each month in the Coffee Shop between 2.30 and 4.30.

Media coverage – the Valley News, published in Wilton, carried a splendid full page article featuring the HUB. It was headed: Chalke Valley Stores celebrates 5 years. Circulation is throughout South West Wiltshire and North Dorset so some very useful publicity. The article itself is on display in the Coffee Shop
Celebrating our Volunteers
No addition of this newsletter is complete without some mention of our wonderful volunteers and as December brings to a close another year, it is an appropriate time to say a big thank you to you all for your dedication and commitment to the HUB and in turn, to the wider Chalke Valley community. As we all know the HUB could not operate without you so your contribution is greatly appreciated by us all
